This 33-credit hour graduate program offers elementary and secondary school teachers the opportunity to hone a specialization in studio art. The program is also beneficial for practicing artists who want to earn teaching credentials through an advanced degree.

To earn Pennsylvania state certification to teach kindergarten through grade 12, MEd candidates must complete an additional 18 credits in a professional sequence that includes coursework in 教育al psychology, 教育, 艺术教育方法, 艺术实习及学生教学.
Candidates must also successfully complete two state-required examinations.

The MEd in Art Education program comprises coursework in art 教育, 艺术历史 and studio art. Students are encouraged to dive deep into their medium and may take as many as three courses in a single studio practice. One course each in art 教育, contemporary issues and the history of the discipline are required.
